10 best iphone apps for image editing

In apple, iPhone Apps on September 24, 2009 at 4:24 am

One of the most frequent use of mobile utilities is the use of Camera and with  Iphone the  Photography freakness  goes a little   further . Here is a list of iphone Apps

bestcamera 201x300 Ten apps for taking photos and editing images on the iPhone

Best Camera: Created by world-renowned photographer Chase Jarvis best camera  iphone app does a little bit of everything for the iPhone photographer, including the ability for users to enhance images with a selection of one-touch filters. The filters are based on some of Jarvis’ most well-known work like Jewel, Paris, Slate, and Candy. You can share photos from within the app directly to Twitter, Facebook, email or thebestcamera.com. Best Camera costs $2.99.

Camera Zoom 2: This apps one of the most requested features for the iPhone camera: zoom. Camera Zoom 2 allows you to zoom in and out in real-time while taking a photo. What’s great about this app is that the zoom is a simple slider in the photo window — just tap and slide and you will zoom. Tapping anywhere on the screen will snap the picture. Camera Zoom costs $0.99.

ColorSplash: This is one of those apps that does something I never would have thought possible on an iPhone. With ColorSplash you can turn a photo to black and white, while keeping areas you select color. A very dramatic effect. ColorSplash costs $1.99.

Photogene: Here is a fairly comprehensive set of editing tools for iPhone photos. Photogene allows you to crop, sharpen, correct colors manually or automatically, adjust exposure and contrast, straighten a tilted image, add frame effects, text bubbles and many other things. This is like the Swiss Army Knife of editing tools for the iPhone. Photogene costs $2.99.

Pano: Panoramic photos are possible on the iPhone with Pano. You do not need any other software to make panoramic photos, just an iPhone and Pano. You can take panoramas with up to 16 photos and then stitch them together with features like a semi-transparent guide to line up the photos. Pano also features blending and color-correction algorithms. Pano costs $2.99.

Night Camera: This solves one of my biggest problems with any camera. Shooting in low-light situations is always difficult — having a solution on the iPhone just makes me want to use it more. Night Camera uses the iPhone’s accelerometer to trigger the shutter when the camera is stable. It features three modes: Standard, Stable and Timer. Night Camera costs $0.99.

photofx 199x300 Ten apps for taking photos and editing images on the iPhone

Photo fx: There are some serious filters available in this app. You can choose from 32 filters in six categories and 327 presets. Filters include Pro Mist, Center Spot, Close-up Lens, Reflector, Star, Pencil and Polarizer. There are also two add-on groups called Portrait fx and Color fx. Photo fx costs $2.99.

DSLR Camera Remote: Your iPhone as a remote — not a bad idea at all. With this app you can plug your camera into your computer and then control your Canon EOS or Nikon DSLR camera from your phone. You can adjust settings, fire the shutter, review images and get a live viewfinder preview, among other things. DSLR Camera Remote requires free server software and a Wi-Fi connection. The iPhone app costs $19.99.

Perfectly Clear: Here is another problem I have with photos — they look washed out. Perfectly Clear applies corrections to your photos automatically, taking that flatness out. The app looks at exposure, contrast, color vibrancy, sharpen and tint removal when making its adjustments.

Light: If you want to spice up your photos with a little light and shadow, this is the app for you. You can add realistic lighting effects to any image using presets in the app. For instance, if you took an image that looks bland, you can add the shadow from a Georgian window to the background. Very slick. Light costs $1.99.

if we take a littel over look or comapre both so the results are. The first main difference between the both is, Nokia N97 orignal is bigger in size and screen and Nokia N97 Mini is samller as its name shows. Second main difference is their storage capacity Nokia N97 orignal has 32 GB of built in storage and Nokia N97 Mini has only 8 GB of built in storage capacity. Nokia N97 orignal has lens cover and Mini does not. One very important thing Nokia N97 has very complicated thumb board and Nokia N97 Mini has more complicated. INQ¹ wins “Best Mobile Handset or Device” at MWC

In Best mobiles on February 20, 2009 at 11:14 am

    inq_wmc2009main

INQ managed to win the  best phone awad out the likes of the BlackBerry Storm, LG KS360, T-Mobile G1 and the Nokia E71 to win the Best Mobile Device or Handset award at the MWC.

The INQ¹’s has a  unique perfection which mad it win with successful integration of Facebook and automatic updating of contact details for your friends truly makes this a one-of-a-kind phone. Add to that the impressive user interface and great pricing, then you can begin to see why this managed to stand out. Of course, my personal pick would have been the E71, but apart from its feature-set and sleek design, it really has nothing new to bring to the table which is probably why the INQ¹ won the award. Originality and innovation, after all, does have its own merits.

How to Block Calls on BlackBerry and SmartPhones

In Mobile Softwares, blackberry on February 18, 2009 at 10:41 am

How to Block Calls on BlackBerry and SmartPhones

Third party mobile phone utilities can be downloaded and installed on SmartPhones to block unwanted phone calls. These mobile phone utilities also allow you to monitor calls and block calls, as well as keep track of all sent and received SMS text messages and emails.

Home phone users can easily block calls on their landlines by using call blocking and call rejecting services provided by their phone company or service provider. This helps them to block unwanted phone calls which they do not need, or to reject anonymous phone and unwanted calls. For mobile phone users, call blocking and tracking can be a bit tricky. However, a number of softwares are available on the internet which can be downloaded to provide similar functionality on your mobile phone and PDA devices. Here’s something useful on how to block calls to your mobile phone or device.

TextGuard is a mobile phone utility designed specially for SmartPhones including those by HTC and BlackBerry. The utility can run on Windows Mobile operating system and will soon be available for Android and Symbian mobiles. It not only helps you keep track of your mobile phone call record, but it is also a text filtering and monitoring utility. The way TextGuard works is that you pay a nominal fee every month to register for an account on the TextGuard website. By installing TextGuard on your mobile phones, you can then login to the website and keep track of call logs, text message logs as well as web browsing history. Monitoring calls and blocking calls with TextGuard is extremely easy. The Call logging feature not only allows you to monitor calls by keeping track of all the incoming and outgoing calls, but you can also record your calls and upload them to the server. However, this call recording feature is only available in Windows Mobile operated mobile phones.

Email logging functionality allows you to keep track of all your emails which are sent or received through the configured email account. Text message tracking and logging allows you full control over all the text messages which were sent or received in the past. You can monitor text messages and keep entire logs of old messages and arrange them or review them for later use.

The Web Browsing history feature is also only available for Windows Mobile phones. This feature is still under development for BlackBerry and Android mobile phones.

The most useful feature provided by TextGuard is its call blocking functionality. You can block any number on your mobile phone or block emails, text SMS or web URLs by keyword blocking. The way call blocking works is that you specify the numbers which need to be ignored if you receive a call from them. As soon as the caller makes a call, the call is blocked and you will not receive a ring tone. The caller will be notified that his/her call was blocked. Similarly, TextGuard provides the functionality to block emails, block spam text as well as web URLs which you may want to ignore or filter. TextGuard also provides Device Locking functionality which can be scheduled or instant.

Call blocking and call monitoring is a serious issue, especially in cases when someone is continuously harassing you with phone calls. This can be extremely stressful and frightening and can be a breach to your privacy. With TextGuard, you can take effective measures instantly and block any unknown and unwanted phone calls and text messages.

Nokia’s latest GPS devices brings Nokia Maps has to offer

In internet on February 16, 2009 at 10:53 am

Nokia Knows how to play  with laid plans .Since the first Nokia Navigator made its appearance two years ago, the company has been updating and improving its location based services steadily and has now introduced the latest arrival in its Navigator line, the Nokia 6710 Navigator. Another new arrival is the Nokia 6720 classic, which builds on the Nokia heritage of traditional candybar phones that excel in all areas.

    Nokia 6710 Navigator
As its name indicates, the Nokia 6710 Navigator is built to be a perfect guide in cities or elsewhere. Nokia 6710 is the best to date  and provides everything you would expect from a dedicated GPS device with all the benefits of a converged mobile device.
What we like the most is that Nokia Maps will interact with OVI to sync not only content but also routes that you have created on your PCThe solution includes the latest developments in the Maps software with real time ‘drive and walk’ navigation, full regional maps and hardware elements like the dedicated navigator key, touch area for easy zooming and a large display optimized for outdoor viewing. “We want to make the experience as simple and effective as possible, which means the navigation licenses are pre-installed and ready to use as soon as you turn on the Navigator,” continues Suomi.
    Nokia 6710 Navigator
The recent integration of Maps with Ovi allows people to pre-plan their journey at home on their PC and synchronize with their mobile device. Additionally, Maps has been updated to include a number of new features such as high-resolution aerial images, 3D landmarks for over 200 cities, terrain maps, weather service, premium travel and events content and traffic and safety warnings. With both of the new devices including a compass, working in conjunction with the new features of Maps, the pedestrian navigation experience has been significantly improved.
The second thing that we like about Nokia Maps is that the mapping data is on your memory card – there’s no need for (stinky) data downloads as it is often the case with other mobile mapping apps. Included inbox is the Nokia CR-111 car holder, which cradles the Nokia 6710 Navigator easily in the car and completes the driving navigation solution. For those that want a little extra, there is a new arrival from Nokia accessories in the Nokia Speakerphone HF-310, which boasts high quality hands free with echo cancellation and noise reduction. The speakerphone is easy to use in the car or office and can be installed easily with three different fixings.
    Nokia 6720 classic
makes sure that people also get the best voice experience with the curved design fitting perfectly to the users face and new active noise cancellation, a feature appearing for the first time in the Nokia 6720 classic, which significantly improves the quality of voice by cutting down on external ambient sounds. Of course, all other features one requires are easily accessible with up to 20 days of standby time, high speed uplink and downlink Internet access and a TV-out connection for sharing images and video.

The Nokia 6720 classic is expected to begin shipping in the second quarter of 2009 at an estimated retail price of 245 EUR before taxes and subsidies. The Nokia 6710 Navigator will join in the third quarter with an estimated retail price of 300 EUR, before taxes and subsidie

Google has defeated in another first launch by launching Synchronization service for  WIndows mobile devices, however We have seen few  services like ZYB and Mobical using Sync ML back up conatcts form mobiles to web and then later they can be downlaoded on desktop computer.

User can now sync their Google calendar appointments and Gmail contacts to the native calendar and contact applications on the iPhone and Windows Mobile devices. We know that  Microsoft plans to launch allike service  early next week known as  called My Phone. With CALL MY PHONE  users will be able to  to synch  contacts and calendars entries on  Web and  a computer and mobile phone.

In relation to Apples’s ” MobileMe”  service Microsoft’s service is more comprehensive by which  users can manage pictures and text messages on the device, when it finally launches, it will operate in a invitation-only beta.  Although x Microsoft has been offering email, calendar and contact sync for some time on Windows Mobile devices through its Active Sync services, but these new Web services are clearly aimed at the mainstream, rather than the enterprise market.

BE VERY CAREFUL : One critical feature to note is that if your iPhone and Gmail accounts aren’t identical DONT DO IT as Google Sync service  will “replace all existing contacts and calendar information on your phone.

T-Mobile USA will launch “more G series phones” this year

In News, Technology on February 2, 2009 at 7:11 am

We knew it even before hey planned the next Android phone and that was simple guess. the G1 lacks ay too many features . T-Mobile’s senior vice president of engineering and operations, declared:

“As the year progresses there will be a significant number of HSPA-capable smart phones.  We will be launching more G series phones and other products.”

But that doesn’t necessarily mean T-Mobile will release any new G-phone sometime soon, is it?

Ray said that during 2009 T-Mobile plans on a significant number of HSPA capable smartphones, and T-Mobile will be launching more G phones along with other products. So one can figure on seeing a T-Mobile G2 sometime this year.

Smart phone sales grow, but overall mobile devices to decline

In Smartphone on January 30, 2009 at 10:28 am

In 2008 Smartphones were 14% of all mobile devices shipment globally in 2008 and should increase to more than 17% of the total in 2009, according to new projections from ABI Research Inc. in New York. However, the expected increase in smart phone shipments in 2009 will occur even as the overall total number of mobile devices shipped declined from 1.21 billion in 2008 to 1.17 in 2009, a drop of 2.5%,

ABI analyst Kevin Burden said today. The gloomy global economy will be one factor in the decline for all mobile device shipments in 2009, but another is how uncomfortable consumers have become with sophisticated new devices that they don’t understand how to fully use, Burden said in an interview. “We’re seeing that people already have in their possession capable phones with color screens and more, and it may be that they already have the phone they are happy with,” Burden said. “So the bad economy becomes an excuse not to get a more sophisticated phone.

It’s a question of simplicity and of getting a mobile phone with features beyond their capability to use.” One theme of several recent CTIA and International CES trade shows has been how new handhelds are often shipped with so many features and functions that users hardly ever use 10% of all the features, or even learn how to use them, Burden and other analysts have said.

So, if overall new mobile phones are so sophisticated that users might not want to buy a new one, why would smart phones like the iPhone be growing in popularity, with shipments expected to increase in 2009? According to Burden, smart phones started selling only recently, and their growth is “magnified” by the early adopter effect of one group of users wanting to try something new. ABI said that about 116 million smart phones shipped globally in 2007, which mushroomed to 171 million in 2008 and should reach 203 million in 2009. That percentage increase from 2008 to 2009 is an increase of 18%, which Burden called “slow growth” in comparison to what should have happened were the economy better.

Introducing the General Mobile DSTL1, a Dual SIM Phone that according to GSMArena, will be Android enabled and will be presented at the Mobile World Congress in February:

    dstldroid

This is the Android-based, 3-inch Sharp touchscreen, General Mobile DSTL1. And it is everything the T-Mobile isn’t: A stunning design and features combination that may convince regular consumers to choose the Android platform over iPhone.

Seriously, while the T-Mobile G1 leaves me completely in a blah state of mind, DSTL1 actually makes me horny in a “I wish this thing vibrates really hard” kind of way.

Look at it. It’s like the Battlestar Galactica designers took the iPhone design and passed it through their Colony-Design-a-thon, adding angled corners to it but keeping the same black glass, chrome accents, black plastic, circular home button, ear speaker grill, and volume controls. The result is a design which looks extremely familiar to the public, yet adds enough changes to appeal to people who want something cool looking, but different. And with better specs too:

In Money on January 22, 2009 at 10:31 am

Sony Corp. has anounced the biggest and the first loss in last 14 years . It has an  annual operating loss of 2.9 billion dollars, the first in 14 years, as the economic crisis batters demand for its televisions, cameras and other goods.

Sony, said it expects an operating loss of 260 billion yen for the current financial year to March, a dramatic reversal from an earlier goal for a 200-billion-yen profit.

The electronics giant, which is slashing thousands of jobs and axing plants, now sees a net loss of 150 billion yen for the current year, compared with an earlier projection for a 150-billion-yen profit.

The electronics giant, which is slashing thousands of jobs and axing plants, now sees a net loss of 150 billion yen for the current year, compared with an earlier projection for a 150-billion-yen profit.

Sony blamed the worsening business environment, the stronger yen, weak financial markets and restructuring costs for the bleak outlook.

Under its first foreign boss, Howard Stringer, a Welsh-born US citizen, Sony has shed non-core assets and axed thousands of jobs in recent years. Last month it announced 16,000 more job cuts along with factory closures.

No more Blah Blah on Sony PlayStation Phone

In Sony on January 20, 2009 at 10:48 am

    http://www.pmptoday.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/sony-playstation-portable-phone.jpg

Its been long when we started hearing that Sony Ericsson has been working on a PlayStation Phone but now RUMOURS have gone different altogether.News has come to light that Sony does not wish to share the license with their handset partner Ericsson, unless build quality on their handsets were up to first-party standards.

Sony PlayStation phone is all but dead because of a fall-out between Sony and its mobile phone joint venture, Sony Ericsson . Rumor has it that Sony Ericsson was all set to develop a PSP phone, as a follow-up to its popular Cyber-shot and Walkman handsets, but now Sony is refusing to let them use the brand, according to Mobile Today.

However, if there’s been any sort of disagreement, it seems Sony Ericsson officials are confident that it’s short-lived.  Sven Totte, who is a director and head of category for global marketing, told Moconews that   more branded experiences, just like Cyber-shot and Walkman, will be coming soon—specifically on the Google Android platform. He said the trick with using Android was that it needed to be clear it was a Sony Ericsson device, and that people have come to expect “a higher level of coolness,” like with their other Walkman and Cyber-shot phones. He said, only “some consumers will understand it’s an Android.” Last week, I emailed Totte to see if he would clarify whether that would include using the Sony PlayStation brand, but he did not get back to me with comment. Sony Ericsson committed to Android’s Open Handset Alliance in December, and said a phone would be ready as soon as this year.

Apple lets 4 browsers get around SDK clause, unlikely to let Firefox, Opera, or Chrome do the same

In apple on January 14, 2009 at 6:02 pm

After iphone nano now its web browser SDK duplication a new topic to debate. Apple has given permission to

four mobile web browsers around its “duplicate functionality” SDK clause enabling them entrance into the app store, reports MacRumors’ Arnold Kim.  Apple has seemingly been loosening the rules regarding duplicate functionality starting a while back with the popular flatulence applications for the iPhone, Pull My Finger and iFart Mobile.  In fact, the new web browsers applied for inclusion into the app store last October, likely meaning Apple has a huge backlog of apps that offer some sort of duplicate functionality but will eventually be released.  If you think you’ll see Firefox, Chrome, Opera or any competitive browser on the iPhone in the near future though, think again.

The new browsers include Edge, Incognito, WebMate and Shaking Web.  However, as CRN points out, each browser is built on Apple’s Safari Webkit.  Browsers such as Firefox and Chrome are built on independent platforms.  The new browsers don’t pose any competitive threat to Apple either.

The hacker has an nteresting sense of humor howeevr he is week when it comes to spelling mistakes .  From the FOX News Twitter account, a message stated “Breaking: Bill O Riley is gay.”  I’m sure he meant Bill O’Reilly, host of FOX’s The O’Reilly Factor. Britney Spears’ Twitter account had a more explicit message: “HI Yall!  Brit Brit here, just wanted to update you all on the size of my *bleep.*  Its about 4 feet wide with razor sharp teeth.” Rick Sanchez’s Twitter stated “i am high on crack right now might not be coming into work today.”  Rick often times refers to his Twitter account on CNN program.
